  • The Systems Development Center has a need for a Principal Systems Design and Development Engineer to support Electronic Warfare program needs in Goleta, CA. We are looking for a Systems Engineer with experience in Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Surveillance (ES) and the related systems engineering design and analysis performing trade studies, performance analysis, requirements flow down, requirements management, developing test strategy, writing test plans, reviewing test data and preparing for design reviews/presentations to customers. 
  • The candidate will support the development and design of system and software architectures, implement Open Architectures, perform system analysis, design, requirements flow down and specification, interface design, concept and configuration refinement and effectiveness analysis for a broad range of EW applications. The candidate will also support programs for requirements definition through sell-off to customers and users at government run facilities. 
  • The candidate is responsible for creation and maintenance of the systems model with a familiarity of Architecture Frameworks and SysML. The candidate will guide and direct other functions through architectural decisions and trades. The candidate will provide architectural input to all decisions impacting product integrity, system performance, and system functionality. 
  • Candidate may support activities such as characterization of system performance, planning and coordination of system/software deliveries, integration and testing of initial and updated system builds and support to installation of client products. 
  • Required Skills: 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in one or more areas of the system development lifecycle, from system requirements and system design through integration and test utilizing the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) 
  • Working Electronic Warfare knowledge and experience with understanding of threat systems, mission analysis, and Concept of Operations 
  • Experience with Software Architecture, Algorithm development, and interface design over various communication protocols (e.g. PCIe, GbE, RS-432, etc) 
  • Experience in proposal development (contributor role sufficient) supporting technical volume generation along with generation of cost estimate for detail tasking 
  • Experience with team leadership of software and/or firmware centric team members driving design, development and verification of system capabilities meeting performance goals. 
  • Experience with generating models supporting real-time and/or embedded software development 
  • Requirement generation and allocation experience utilizing requirements management applications (e.g. DOORS, SLATE) 
  • Experience performing system analysis of complex data processing systems & proven performance analysis skills, fault isolation investigation skills in characterizing, monitoring & tuning data processing systems 
  • Excellent communication skills supporting interface with internal and external customers along with presenting performance results and status to peers and senior management 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active (or active within past 24 months) DoD Secret Clearance 
  • Desired Skills: 

  • Works independently, determines & develops approach to solutions 
  • MATLAB or similar performance analysis tools 
  • OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional 
  • IBM Rhapsody or similar modeling environment 
  • Experience with Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architecture, Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework, Federal 
  • Required Education: 

  • BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math, (STEM); advanced degree(s) preferred
